VHS & VHS-C (PAL & NTSC), HI8 & VIDEO 8
Any transfer house can record your videos and burn them to a DVD. What makes All about You Video Productions unique is the creativity and personal attention given to your special memories. I will remove the "blue screens" where there is a loss of video signal or static, I will breathe new life into a boring movie by editing it and adding music, titles, special effects and chapters that transform it into a feature presentation that you will be proud to share with your family and friends! Call or email me to find out how much more beautiful those precious movies can be!
In a matter of a few years, analog tapes (VHS, VHS-C, Hi8 & Video 8) will show a noticeable loss in quality (if they haven’t already), while the tapes can also become brittle and damaged. The more you watch a tape, the worse it gets, but you don’t even have to play them in order for their deterioration to continue. Heat, humidity, and improper storage take their toll on tapes, decaying the magnetic particles that represent your precious memories. The only way to truly preserve your analog videos is to convert them to digital and transfer them to DVD, which have an estimated life of 100 years. Don’t risk losing your precious memories!
If you had your 8 mm or Super 8’s transferred to VHS during the 1990’s, consider having the original film converted again. Many of the transfers to VHS that I see are already in bad condition. The technology just wasn’t available back then and conversion to digital is a far superior quality.
PLEASE NOTE: Later model VCRs can record and play tapes both in Short Play (SP) format and Long Play (LP) format. LP format increases the available recording time, at the risk of losing some video and sound quality. Then there is the Extra Long Play (EP, ELP, or SLP) format, which slows down the tape speed to about one third of SP. This causes even more loss of sound and video quality. While I can make some adjustments in a digitized environment, the resulting DVD will not be much better than the source, still, it is better to convert them now as they will only deteriorate more with time.
